How each line checks eligibility
Each line has its own rules for who qualifies and its own way of proving it. Here's how each one verifies, with a link to the line's official page.
- Royal Caribbean: military rates on selected sailings for active duty, retirees, veterans with an honorable discharge, and spouses of actively deployed or deceased military members. How it verifies: there's no online sign-up; you show military ID at check-in (veterans bring a DD-214 plus a current photo ID). Royal Caribbean's ID rules
- Celebrity Cruises: military savings on select staterooms and sailings for active duty, retirees, veterans with an honorable discharge, and spouses of actively deployed or deceased personnel. How it verifies: military savings are chosen when the cruise is booked, and you show military ID at check-in (veterans bring a DD-214 plus a photo ID). Celebrity's military offer
- Norwegian (NCL): a Military Appreciation Program for active members, veterans, spouses and surviving spouses. How it verifies: online through ID.me. You sign in to My NCL and verify once. NCL's verification steps
- Princess: a Military Cruise Benefit Program that gives onboard credit (not a fare discount) to veterans and active, retired or disabled military. How it verifies: U.S. guests apply online through SheerID with a Captain Circle number, at least 14 days before sailing. Canadian guests use a separate form on the Princess page. Princess's military program
- Holland America: a military appreciation offer of onboard credit for U.S. and Canadian active, retired and veteran military. How it verifies: online through SheerID, linked from the offer page. Holland America's military offer
- Virgin Voyages: a deal for military members, veterans and first responders. How it verifies: you bring valid military ID to the terminal at check-in. Virgin's military deal
- Carnival: offers military savings for U.S. and Canadian military members and veterans. Carnival's public page doesn't spell out how it checks eligibility, so ask us and we'll confirm it for your sailing. Carnival's military page
- MSC and Disney: both list military rates on their official sites but don't publish how they verify. Ask us and we'll check for your dates.
Offers and eligibility rules change, so we check the current terms and compare them with other fares for your dates.
